Marcello Francioni (he/they) is associate lecturer at Oxford Brookes University and holds a PhD at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. Their research interests include Japanese nightlife, the service industry, issues of gender, care, sexuality, and the relationship between national identity and race. Since childhood, Marcello expressed themselves through illustration and comics, and has recently started combining their passion for drawing and ethnography through ethno/graphic storytelling.
